  • V. Mechanics:
    1. How to join:
      • (a) Take a photo of yourself or your friend(s) enjoying CHOWKING’S NEW HONGKONG-STYLE CONGEE (you may choose from any varieties: CLASSIC, MEATBALLS, GOTO, CHICKEN or KING’S CONGEE).
          Photo Policy:
        • 1. The photo must contain a picture of you and/or your friend/s with the Chowking’s New Hongkong-style Congee. A mere photo of the product will not be accepted.
        • 2. The photo must be the original work of the entrant.
        • 3. Make sure that you will upload a high-quality and clear photo so Chowking can judge them well. Get creative as you like!
        • 4. Uploaded entries should not contain any identifying marks (watermarks, borders, labels, text, signature) so judging is fair and unbiased.
        • 5. Digital images (from digital cameras, cellphone cameras and the like) or scans of prints should be uploaded to www.chowking.com/congee;
        • 6. An entry must be an accurate reflection of the subject matter and scene as it appeared, without alteration (other than standard optimization, including removal of dust, cropping, adjustments to color and contrast, etc.)
        • 7. All photos are subject for review. Photos with nudity or malicious content will not be posted in the photo gallery nor be deleted from the entries hence; it will be stored in the CMS program of the third party (YEHEY) for safekeeping. All participants with photos of such subject will be notified thru email that their photos can’t be posted in the photo gallery because their entry is found not to have been in accordance with rules and regulations of the contest.
        • 8. ALL photos subject for disqualification will be presented to DTI for final approval.

      • (c) After uploading, there will be a notification that a confirmation message has been sent to your validated email addresses: “Thank you for joining! A confirmation has been sent to your email address. Should you wish to upload another photo of your Chowking congee experience, just log on using your user name and password. We hope you had a great time enjoying our Chowking HK Style Congee.
      • (d) A participant shall receive a message confirming his/her registration and that his /her entry/s has been approved.

        Sample of Confirmation Message: Dear (Name of the Participant), “THANK YOU FOR JOINING THE CHOWKING SHOT AT A LAPTOP PHOTO CONTEST! You may now access your account at our website. To activate your account please go www.chowking.com/congee/registration/123456.html Your photo will appear in the photo gallery within 24 hours from 8:00AM to 5:00PM. However, if your photo has been found not to have been in accordance with rules and regulations of the contest, you will be notified for disqualification with prior approval from Department of Trade and Industry We hope to see you soon.” Chowking

      • (e) Upon approval of the photo, Chowking shall send PHOTO EMAIL APPROVALS/REJECTS message to the participant:

        Sample of Approved Message: Hi! Congratulations! Your photo(s) has been approved. Log-in at www.chowking.com/congee/gallery to see your picture at the photo gallery. Thank you and visit us again soon.

        Sample of Disapproved Message: I’m sorry but the photo(s) you sent contains inappropriate subjects that do not qualify with Chowking’s contest mechanics and might conflict with public interest. Kindly upload another photo and go to www.chowking.com/congee for the contest mechanics. Thank you and visit us again.

      • (f) A Participant can send as many photos as he can but can only win once.
      • (g) Deadline of submission is on September 21, 2008 at 5:00PM.
      • (h) The most creative photos will win prizes.

    2. How to WIN:
      • CRITERIA for JUDGING
      • CREATIVITY(50%) - Based on the Uniqueness and/or Originality, Overall Impact, Composition, Subject rendered, and Artistic Merit.
      • HUMOR (40%) Wholesomeness, wittiness and/or Entertaining
      • CLARITY/QUALITY OF PHOTO (10%) Quality and Sharpness of color and texture

        *Decisions made by the Judges are irrevocable. CHOWKING will select top 5 photos. All the top 5 winners will get ACER ASPIRE LAPTOP CONSOLATION PRIZE: 10 winners of P5,000 worth of Chowking gift certificates. Prizes are Transferable but not convertible to cash.

      • IMPORTANT NOTES:
        • • Only registered and validated users will be eligible for the contest.
        • • Contest is off-limits to all Chowking Employees and its business partner, YEHEY Employees and their relatives up to the 2nd degree of consanguinity or affinity.
    3. Announcement of Winners:
      • • Banner announcement on Chowking website and Chowking Congee microsite.
      • • The winners will also be notified via their validated email address and via registered mail on or before September 30, 2008. In addition to this, they will receive a call through landline or cellular phone (if the data is readily available in their profiles).
    4. How to Claim prizes:
      • • Winners must present 2 valid IDs in claiming their prizes. Valid IDs consist of SSS ID, Company or School ID, Credit Card with Picture, Driver’s License, Passport and/or Senior Citizen’s ID.
      • • Claiming of prizes will be done in the following manner: o Winners from Metro Manila – pick-up prizes from Chowking Corporate Office located in 33rd Floor, Jollibee Plaza, Emerald Ave., Ortigas Center, Pasig City. o Winners from outside Metro Manila – pick up prizes from the Chowking store indicated in your confirmation email/SMS.
      • • Prizes that are not claimed within 60 days of being notified by Chowking will be forfeited with prior approval from DTI.

    Summary of Terms and Conditions:
  1. Participants must guarantee that they are the sole owners and creators of their entries
  2. A participant can send as many photo as he can but he can only win once.
  3. Participants will retain copyright and ownership of their images. However by entering the contest, participants agree to grant CHOWKING an exclusive, perpetual royalty-free license to use the winning entries.
  4. Chowking has the exclusive right to reproduce and circulate the winning entries, and to use, copy, publish, print, and distribute the winning entries for commercial and non-commercial purposes, without having to consult the photographer any compensation.
  5. The owners of the winning entries retain the right to post their images on their websites, blogs, or publish them newspapers and magazines, but not to enter them in any other contest, or use them in any way defames or damages the Chowking brand.
  6. 6. If a winning entry is found not to have been in accordance with the contest rules and guidelines, Chowking reserves the right to disqualify any award made and seek return of any prizes given.
